The Energy Spectrum of Human Design Gate 2
All energy in the Human Design chart exists on a spectrum of potential.
On the “positive” end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 2 is the energy for receiving the abundance of life. Gate 2 knows that life is a balance of feminine and masculine and that receiving the gifts of life is true abundance.
On the “negative” end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 2 is the energy for spending resources (time, money, energy) recklessly. It doubts, worries, and feels anxious about its needs being met and has no faith in their ability to receive abundance.
If you don’t like the results that the “negative” side of the spectrum is creating in your life, you can raise the frequency of Gate 2 with a number of boundaries, practices, and tools.
(I cover the practices for the gates of your incarnation cross in the Human Design Map.)
The most important thing to raise the frequency of gate 2 is to learn how to feel “positive” emotions like abundance, joy, and gratitude.
My Personal Experience with Human Design Gate 2 (Gene Key 2)
When I was in the second grade, I wrote a story that was published in the local newspaper.
My teacher seemed more excited than I was. She kept telling me how proud she was that I’d had something published at such a young age.
Now, of course, we aren’t talking about the New York Times. But, it did seem like such a big deal… to them.
I felt confused about their excitement and very uncomfortable with the praise.
Writing comes very naturally to me. I’d even go so far as to say that it’s easy.
My head, ajna, throat, spleen, and G are all defined. More specifically, my throat has 6 defined gates (62, 16, 20, 31, 8, and 56), three of which are full channels (16-48 channel of the wavelength, 57-20 channel of the brainwave, and 31-7 channel of the alpha).
So, we might even say that it was written in the stars for me to be such a wordsmith.
But, back then, my ability to write was nothing short of…ordinary.
And my brain and nervous system didn’t have the capacity to believe that something that came so easily to me was worthy of praise. I didn’t have the ability to let it in.
Looking back, I can see that that experience was an inability to receive.
In time, I’ve come to recognize that I do have a gift for writing. I have a way with words that is unique and that others appreciate.
And it was through the act of writing that I came to understand what it means to receive.
In all honesty, this is true for most of the things that I “know.” My writing time is when I commune with that thing that some call God.
But my lesson in receiving came when I was writing the very first iteration of my signature energy healing method (which would later become the heart of the Human Design Map deconditioning toolbox).
The method is based on alchemical magic and walks you through the seven healing phases that underpin all change that sticks. It works no matter what you are trying to heal and change because it addresses the roots of why we don’t live according to what we really want.
Each phase of the process has an energetic objective. And the final phase, which I call The Promised Land, is all about RECEIVING the fruits of your inner and outer transformation.
When I started writing about that phase for the first time, I realized something so simple that it was truly profound.
I couldn’t even believe what my fingers were typing.
Receiving is FEELING.
We have a tendency to make the concept of “receiving” really complicated. But it really is quite simple.
Receiving is allowing your body to process the emotions that come along with fruition. Emotions we might call success, satisfaction, peace, and delight. Or abundance, pride, dignity, or alignment.
You process them by locating them in your BODY and noticing the felt sensations of them. You stay present with yourself and with those feelings as they vibrate through you.
No pretending to be humble.
Not pushing them away with confusion.
Not minimizing whatever you created.
Not writing it off as a fluke.
But opening to them. Softening to them. Letting them into your being.
In the real moments of gratitude, joy, appreciation, reverence, respect, affirmation, abundance, prosperity, bliss, ecstasy, and PLEASURE, becoming the vibration.
Discovering what it FEELS LIKE for your heart to expand, for your aura to vibrate that high, for the pleasure to wash through every crevice of your being.
To receive is to surrender to the full spectrum of “positive” emotions that are available to you as a human being.
What a revelation. It really is simple.
(And I can walk you through it step-by-step in the deconditioning toolbox once you get your map.)
Since that revelation, I’ve coached hundreds, if not thousands, of people, through “receiving.” And it has been nothing short of miraculous to watch the light bulb go off.
And, on the personal front, it has been so healing to take all of that confusion away for myself.
When I bring something to fruition in my life, I now understand that my work—that completing the cycle of alchemy—is really about being present in my body. I let the emotion move me.
Every time I remember that and practice it, my capacity for more expands. It clears out the “blocks” that prevent me from receiving more love, abundance, and magic.
And for that, I am eternally grateful.
