On the “positive” end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 20 is the energy for being present and speaking the truth in the now. Gate 20 knows that everything we need to know exists in the present moment and trusts that the highest potential will be revealed in Divine Timing.
On the other end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 20 is the energy for making choices according to the mind instead of your inner wisdom and an inability to be still in the present moment. It can also easily give into the pressure and give unsolicited or incorrect advice.
Start noticing when you are not speaking your truth but don’t be an asshole to yourself. Treat yourself the way you would a small child – with love, curiosity, and understanding.

In this contemplation, though, I wanted to reflect on my experience with the 57-20 channel (called the brainwave).
Gate 57 is defined in the conscious sun of incarnation cross and the 57-20 has been super interesting to me. It is actually one of the (many) reasons that Human Design clicked with me instantly.
I’ve often had the experience of what I call “pops of clarity.”
Pops of clarity are sort of like sitting at a train crossing before the train arrives. You can hear the train coming, but you have no control over when it will actually show up. It shows up when it does.
With the 57-20, I can intuitively sense information “coming through” and have to wait for clarity.
Then, in a flash, I get a “download” that feels like it needs to be expressed….right now!
I won’t always immediately know what to say but I will have a deep sense inside of me that something is “coming through.”
I’ve come to understand that, most often, the mechanics of the person’s chart are “speaking to me” and that I just need to keep listening. Sometimes, that means I ask more questions. Other times, it means I walk away in full trust that an answer is coming.
And, not quite like clockwork 😉, I’ll know exactly what to say and write or rant a thousand words in a couple of minutes flat.
This is just one example of how it plays out. But let me tell you, for most of my life, it was frustrating AF.
I hated the feeling of “knowing” something was “on the way” and having no control over when it showed up.
But after many years of deconditioning , that is shifting, and I am deepening my surrender to Divine Timing.
I can see that my mind goes into a tailspin and starts trying to use logic or reason to put language to the inner knowing.
And it literally never works.
When I try to force my intuition out, it gets muddy and never “lands” in a very powerful way.
I have learned that the best thing I can do is….be present.
Be here now .
Every day, I trust that if something needs to be said, I’ll know it when the time is right.
I don’t need to be attached to knowing how, when, where, or why. Or knowing at all.
This shift in thinking allows me to be more present; I actually have space to breathe and just live my life.
Probably even more importantly, my intuition is becoming even stronger every single day. It is sharper and clearer. And when the words do come, they are more powerful than ever.
When I surrender, my words are a healing force in the world; they heal me and the people who encounter me.
It isn’t always easy, but clearly, it is part of my life’s work. I’m literally living for it.
