The Positive and Negative Sides of Human Design Gate 60 All energy in the Human Design chart exists on a spectrum of potential .
On the “positive” end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 60 is the energy for flowing through life by using creativity to overcome limitations. Gate 60 breaks the rules and loves to create equitable systems and structures. It thrives when it has the proper boundaries in places for magic, creativity, and transformation to flourish.
On the “negative” end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 60 is the energy for becoming victimized by laws, rules, boundaries, and natural limits. It has a tendency to act out when boundaries aren’t clear and stay in their comfort zone instead of using their creativity to overcome challenges.

My very first map
Back then, I didn’t know the human design gates
I can remember very clearly sitting down to study gate 60.
I was surrounded by piles of Human Design, Gene Keys, and IChing books
By the end, I had tears streaming down my face because I knew how important it was to get this information out to people.
And, in a moment of self recognition
I understood my gifts in a whole new way. I was more than “just a writer” or walking, talking firehose of esoteric information. In those moments, I knew that my words would change the way people experience their Human Design.
Traditional Human Design is often taught in a disempowering way.
There are literally “analysts” and “readers” who tell people, based on specific gates in their chart, that they are evil, doomed to fail, or other such disempowering bullshit.
I once had an HD reader tell me that I should close my business, file for unemployment, and play video games for the rest of my life.
And that is just the beginning of what I’ve seen.
There are indeed some gates in the chart that, because of conditioning and Ra’s intention to reach people through their “not-self,” can seem intense at first glance.
But a different story unfolds when we look deeper at the full spectrum of potential
Gate 60 is one of the prime examples.
In traditional Human Design, gate 60 is known as the gate of limitation. It is the energy of boundaries, structure, and restriction.

All of that is true.
AND
There is a whole other side of the story.
While writing that very first map
I didn’t see limitations, rigid structure, or smackdowns from life.
I saw potential, creativity, and ingenuity.
I saw magick.
Because here is the thing:
Creativity and magick are BORN from limits.
Your house is safe because of its walls. Rivers need banks to flow. iPhones, cars, and GPS were all created to solve a “limitation.”
Some of the most beautiful art in the world was made with leftover paint and brushes that should have long been in the trash.
As they say, necessity is the mother of invention.
Without limits, boundaries, and problems, there is no need for creativity and magick. They are fuel for our evolution and growth as a species.
Humans find a way. We make something out of nothing. We create from the (root) pressure of limits. We make magick with it.
How could it be any other way? It’s how the game is played.
And I am 100% on board with that. It is actually what I teach inside the Human Design Map
The difference is in attitude and using our so-called limitations as an opportunity. It is looking for the potential inside of limitation.
It is embracing our real limitations and letting the perceived one’s go. Just like a river and its banks. Gate 60 is what makes us truly limitless.
