Today, February 1, 2025 at 3:46 pm, Eastern, the sun will begin its transit through Human Design Gate 13.
Gate 13 is the archetype of The Sounding Board and gives you the energy to hold space and listen with empathy. To get more details about Gate 13, check out my full article on Human Design Gate 13 here.
The Sun Transiting Gate 13 and Your Higher Purpose
During this transit, we are being invited to explore our relationship to listening with empathy, forgiveness, and being a keeper of secrets and how those qualities interacts with our soul’s purpose. Your soul’s purpose is reflected in your incarnation cross — specifically your conscious sun placement.
Despite what you may have heard about type, strategy, or authority, your conscious sun gate is where you unlock the deepest meaning, aligned contribution, and magick in your life. That’s because, as I explain in the Human Design Map, your conscious sun gate makes up 70% of your energy and soul’s purpose.
By purpose, I do not mean your career, the roles you play, or the things you do on a day in and day out basis. I mean the expansion your soul was seeking when it chose to incarnate at your exact time and place of birth. What you do in the mundane world is completely irrelevant to the expansion of your soul. I share a deeply personal insight about our purpose in my blog post on Human Design Gate 15.
Contemplations as the Sun Transits 13
As the sun transits Human Design Gate 13, consider the archetype of your conscious sun gate and how deeply listening – to yourself and others – with empathy enhances it, especially right now.
Grab your chart and look at the gate and line of your conscious sun. If you’re not sure of the meaning, now is a great time to explore the Human Design Gates Library and my post on the Human Design Profile and Lines. And if you want even more details on both, order your Human Design Map.
Then, sit with these questions:
What is your relationship to listening with empathy, forgiveness, and being a keeper of secrets and how is that showing up for you as it relates to your soul’s purpose?
How would you move forward right now in your soul’s journey if you called on The Sounding Board for support?
Why does deeply listening – to yourself and others – with empathy matter on your soul’s journey of incarnation?
You can also find additional questions for contemplation in my full post on Human Design Gate 13.
You may also find it beneficial to reflect on how Gate 13 is expressed in your chart:
If Gate 13 is your conscious sun gate
Happy Birthday! Take this time to reflect on how The Sounding Board is central to your purpose. What would shift if you made deeply listening – to yourself and others – with empathy your priority right now?
If Gate 13 is defined in your chart but not your conscious sun
Consider how The Sounding Board empowers your conscious sun gate’s purpose. Take a look at situations where you’ve used this energy successfully and how you might further integrate what you’ve learned from those experiences.
If Gate 13 is undefined in your chart
Reflect on the wisdom you’ve gained through this transit about listening with empathy, forgiveness, and being a keeper of secrets and how that empowers your conscious sun’s purpose. Take a look at situations that have gone a little south and how calling on The Sounding Board in the future could help.
