On August 22nd, 2024 at 3:55 am, the sun entered the sign of Virgo.
While the sun transits through the gates of Virgo—human design gates 59 , 40 , 64 , 47 , 6 , 46 —light will be cast upon the themes of practicality, discernment, and order. This light (aka awareness) will help you see how the archetypes of Virgo serve your higher purpose (aka the conscious sun gate of your incarnation cross ).
And, since the transits affect the collective , there will be mirrors everywhere, revealing the golden and taboo shadows of Virgo and where your specific opportunity for expansion is. Some of the golden shadows of Virgo are:
Practical Discriminating Meticulous Organized Helpful Economical Some of the taboo shadows of Virgo are:
Petty Picky Judgmental Nitpicky Controlling Anxious This Virgo season, rejecting your shadows, like being overly critical or perfectionistic, is how “blocks ” are formed in your aura. These “blocks ” might keep you stuck in endless analysis, create decision paralysis, and heighten your Human Design not-self themes of frustration, bitterness, anger, and disappointment.
However, the Virgo archetype invites you to see that these so-called flaws, like your attention to detail and desire for perfection, can actually be some of your greatest allies and sources of strength when channeled consciously. They help you craft a life of precision and purpose, creating wholeness and deep connection to your most Authentic Self.
Understanding your Virgoan shadow parts, like the impulse to control or perfect everything, and showering them with unconditional love and radical acceptance is how you unkink your flow—every single time. This month, consider how embracing your need for order and structure can actually liberate you from self-imposed rigidity.
This is Alchemy at its finest, Virgo-style. By embracing your meticulous nature, you free yourself from the judgment of others and the societal pressure to be anything other than authentically you.
That is exactly what I teach you how to do inside the Human Design Map & Portal . And when you go on that journey, you become liberated in your authenticity and expand your capacity to make purposeful choices.
In that liberation…
🔥 people-pleasing screeches to a halt 🔥 waffling on your decisions becomes a thing of the past 🔥 chasing worthiness is no longer an option
Free from all that weight, you open the doors to knowing your value in the world, trusting your intuition, feeling purposeful in your day-to-day life, and using your voice for the shit that matters.
Now is the time. Using your Human Design as the map , you will be unstoppable in that transformation.
In the meantime, here is my interpretation of a Thoth Tarot card to help you move forward this Virgo season. Please note that I do not interpret the cards in a common fashion. I interpret them based on the original intention of the Book of Thoth, which serves as a correspondence tool in alchemical path-working (aka the magickal Kabbalah). And, based on a revelation I received in the Summer of 2023, I’ve gone a step further by corresponding them to the Human Design chart.
(You’ll also find the magickal correspondences for all the gates of your incarnation cross inside your Human Design Map .) With all of that said, here is…
The Thoth Tarot card for Virgo season is: Card: The Hanged Man
Keywords: enforced sacrifice, punishment, loss, suffering, defeat, failure, death.
(Not that the keyword list is from Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot by Lon Milo DuQuette (<-affiliate link))
Magickal Correspondence:
Path 23 between Geburah (Severity) to Hod (Splendor) Geburah corresponds to the HD Throat center and Hod corresponds to the HD Spleen center. Path 23 corresponds to the two channels that connect the spleen to the throat, 48-16 and 57-20. Channel 48-16 is traditionally called the Wavelength and is the energy for balancing the exploration of the depths of life (48) with the pursuit of mastering one’s craft through repeated practice (16). Channel 57-20 is traditionally called The Brain Wave and is the energy for balancing listening to and acting from intuition (57) with making space for contemplation and pure clarity before speaking or acting on one’s Truth (20). (You’ll find a deep dive course on all 36 Human Design Channels in the portal of the Human Design Map .)
Card Interpretation The Hanging Man corresponds to what some might call the void, the space between the metaphorical dark and light. And when we look at the correspondences, we can see that it corresponds to the two channels that flow between the spleen and the throat. Both of which are fully defined in my chart.
I’ve always known myself to be someone who walks between the worlds.
I am not afraid of “the dark.” I revel in it. Perhaps Human Design Gate 28 in my chart four times, Human Design Gate 48 in my conscious Pluto, conjunct with my conscious sun in human design gate 57 has something to do with that. I’m definitely a splenic being.
And I am no stranger to expressing myself and taking action. I am a truth teller, a prolific writer, and don’t often let the fear of the unknown stop me.
I, being human and all, do have my hang-ups and things that scare the ever-living shit out of me.
But mostly, I know that most fear is tigers of the mind, not tigers on the Savannah. I understand that tigers of the mind are not a reason to stop moving forward but real tigers deserve respect. It’s not either or, it’s both and.
I’ve often said that channel 57-20 is like sitting at a train crossing, waiting for it to come. You can hear it. You know it is coming. But you must wait; proceeding is “dangerous” right now.
On the contrary, 48-16 shows us that waiting to “know enough” is a tiger of the mind. It is “dangerous” to stop and wait. Yes, go into the depths, squeeze every last bit of wisdom out of the darkness. But that depth is only as valuable as its application to mastery.
Sometimes we wait. Sometimes we proceed with caution. Sometimes we go now.
True to Virgo season vibes, the hanged man serves as a warning to know the difference. To be discerning.
Is the tiger real? Or is it only in your mind?
The answer is how you move.
It brings to mind a concept I teach in the MAP Method for Deconditioning (which is the most unique part of Human Design Map & Portal ).
One of the things that can turn you into the hanged man is believing that you have to burn your whole life down to make changes. Or that things like time, money, or current responsibilities are the “reason” you “can’t” make a change.
Both of those are tigers of the mind. They are not real.
Yes, they are real in the sense that some circumstances are hard AF. But that doesn’t mean we can’t create movement – we don’t have to stay stuck. Even if the shift in direction is tiny, we absolutely can begin moving in the direction we want to go.
Making lasting change isn’t about the big moves. It is about our nervous system’s capacity to change.
And we have to honor where our nervous system actually is.
The key is finding what I call the “low-hanging fruit.”
Low-hanging fruit are changes that you can make today, with no internal drama whatsoever. Low-hanging fruit is easy. It doesn’t require navigating triggers or working through your shit.
Low-hanging fruit gets you out of limbo. It gets you moving in the right direction.
And, just like a plane that lands in a completely different location with a 1* adjustment in its flight path, low-hanging fruit puts you in a completely different place.
And, it compounds. It teaches your brain that you do have what it takes and that you can change…right now. What you have the capacity to do and change gets bigger.
In time, making tiny changes (and not dying in the process!) will add up and grow your capacity to make even bigger changes. You’ll grow in your capacity to handle “triggers” and “blocks ” with Grace.
And it all of that starts with discernment.
Are you caught in limbo because of a real tiger who wants to eat you for breakfast? Or is it because of a tiger that lives only in your mind?
Virgo season, and the hanged man, are an invitation to learn the difference.
Here’s to an illuminating Virgo season.
