One ordinary Saturday in the spring of 2022, my husband and I were driving to Target. Suddenly, as I was about to get into the turning lane, a sacred geometric shape dropped into my awareness.
It was ancient and like it had come from the marrow of my bones. A beautiful mashup of the Golden Ratio, delicate and expanding lines, a clear spectrum, all revealed in luminous color.
Truth be told, it was many things all at once. Most of which is probably a story for another day.
For now, though, the most important thing it revealed was that people have a deep misunderstanding of what it means to access their highest potential and purpose—especially in the Human Design space.
To get the whole picture, let’s go back to a time before Human Design had crossed my path.
I had been running a thriving online business for over a decade. I was a Master Energy Healer and Coach, known for popular courses like Self Love School, Shadow + Light, and WonderWork. I wrote ebooks, led workshops, and worked one-on-one with thousands of clients across the globe.
And true to my chart—where Gate 28 is defined four times—the core of that work was guiding people into the darkness of their unconscious parts (aka shadows) and giving them the tools, space, and Grace to transform them into their greatest gifts.
Not just without fear—but with a level of clarity and confidence my clients often said they’d never experienced before.
I could see how shame, self-hatred, and low self-worth were hiding behind the masks of personal growth—how they leaked out through people-pleasing, control, drama, conflict, perfectionism, and self-destruction.
Not because they were broken. But because they had cut off pieces of themselves in an attempt to belong and, in doing so, lost access to their most vital, Creative energy.
My work was to hold the flashlight.
And to show them how to use that reclaimed energy in service of what their soul came here to do.
My tagline was “Reclaim Your Magic.”
Through years of that work, I developed what is now known as the MAP Method—a step-by-step process for revealing hidden aspects of the self, integrating them, and reigniting one’s energetic capacity.

Eventually, I found my way to Human Design. At first, I was reluctant. But, I couldn’t deny what I saw when looking at the chart.
It wasn’t just a puzzle of shapes, colors, and numbers. It was a map for the exact places where the shadows were hiding and where the healing needed to happen.
Soon, Human Design became the center of my work. My business took off. My audience expanded. People started to seek me out and refer me to people who wanted to understand their chart in a deeper way.
On the outside—even to me—it all looked like success.
But beneath the momentum was a gnawing awareness I couldn’t shake.
People were being told, either directly or indirectly, that the chart itself was magic. That if they “just” followed their strategy and authority, everything would click. That the chart was a fixed set of instructions for “alignment”—and that the moment you understood the rules of your design, life would be like skipping through fields of flowers with rainbows, butterflies, and unicorns.
And I watched as people studied their charts for years—gathering information, downloading PDFs, binging content—and still feeling stuck, confused, lost, or ashamed.
But, again, not because of a failing on their part. But because they were being sold keys to the kingdom that don’t actually exist.
I’d even had numerous people come into the Map & Portal disappointed that knowing their design hadn’t saved their failing businesses, marriages, or health. They wanted to know why I failed to meet their expectations.
As a 5/2 profile, this is nothing new to me.
Though it did piss me off at first. I was dumbfounded why people were holding me accountable for promises I never made.
But right around the time that symbol dropped in, I remembered who the fuck I am. I decided that the best thing I could do for them, and for me, was to just be straight with them.
Over and over again, clearly but lovingly, I said something along the lines of:
You weren’t failed by me or by Human Design.
You were misled by someone who sold you false promises dressed up as spiritual truth. And that sucks.
But Human Design isn’t about chasing temporary hits of success in service of the ego. It’s a tool for exploring the truth of who you are and making decisions that are aligned with your soul’s deepest calling.
And that brings us back to that day at Target.
I clearly saw that one of the key reasons that people aren’t getting the most out of Human Design isn’t because they need more information. It was because they’d bought into the lie that there is a magic pill.
The symbol was not random; it was more than just a pretty shape.
It was the energetic code for what happens when we stop chasing magic outside of ourselves and start looking for it within. In all its luminous glory, it showed exactly what happens when we meet our darkness with love, compassion, and radical acceptance.
For every deepening down into the shadows, there is an equal and opposite expansion upward. And it happens not just once but in a series of openings in the aura that cannot be fabricated through knowledge alone.
You must be willing to go into the darkest parts of yourself—into the parts you have hidden, judged, abandoned—and meet them with pure, unconditional love.
Not with force. Or fixing. Or judgment. Or shame.
But with Unconditional Love. Acceptance. Grace. Compassion.
That is where you will meet your maker. The essential energy that goes by your name. The source of your potential and purpose.
And it is from that place, and only that place, that you can learn to direct your energy in ways that are aligned with your deepest purpose for incarnation. No matter what other people might call it.
It is an awakening of the spiritual heart—an initiation. A simultaneous clearing, opening, and infusion of unbreakable purpose.
And it expands your capacity to show up from wholeness.
Not by rejecting the so-called “bad” parts. But knowing which parts to call upon to live your most sacred truth.
And your chart? It’s giving you all the clues you need to get started with that miraculous journey.
But it will not—it cannot—do that work for you.
That is on you. YOU are the magic. You are the one you are looking for.
This isn’t about fixing yourself or chasing perfection.
It’s about living in the heart. Your energy. Your wholeness. Your holy contradiction.
And wielding it, with love, in service of your soul’s purpose.
